Art Styles
Choosing a Style
YarnSaga offers 19 distinct comic art styles. The style you choose sets the visual tone for your entire story — it applies to every panel you generate.
How Styles Work
Each art style is a carefully tuned visual preset that guides the AI's rendering. When you generate a panel, the AI combines your scene description, your character descriptions, and the style to produce an illustration.
Styles use visual reference images (not just text descriptions) to ensure accurate, consistent rendering. This means "manga" in YarnSaga looks like actual manga — not just an AI's interpretation of the word.
Style is locked per story
Once you start generating panels, the art style is effectively locked. If you change it mid-story, earlier panels will look visually inconsistent with new ones. Choose your style before generating.

Tips for Choosing
- Match your story's tone — horror needs Gothic or Noir, not Chibi. Comedy works great in Cartoon or Far Side.
- Consider your audience — children's stories suit Watercolor or Disney Classic. Teens prefer Manga, Webtoon, or Spider-Verse.
- Look at the examples — the style detail pages show real generated panels so you know exactly what to expect.
- When in doubt, Manga — it's the most versatile style for dramatic storytelling with a broad range of scenes and character types.
